What Do Our Phi Betians Do... TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY?
In addition to our work for our national and local philanthropies, Beta Iota Colony also serves through multiple fundraising projects, volunteering to help where needed in the arts departments on campus, and other service activities:
In addition to our work for our national and local philanthropies, Beta Iota Colony also serves through multiple fundraising projects, volunteering to help where needed in the arts departments on campus, and other service activities:
- Filling shoeboxes with gifts for underprivileged children across the globe for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse International Relief (November 2011 and 2012)
- Helping the CSU Theatre Department with their move from the Factory Theatre to the Middough Building on East 13th Street (January 2012)
- Forming a Relay For Life Team for the American Cancer Society and raising a total of $555 (Spring 2012)
- Co-sponsoring and organizing an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner and variety show to benefit both the East Cleveland Theater and the American Cancer Society (April 2012)
- Beautifying areas of Cleveland State's Music and Communication Building (in progress)
- Organizing music binders for the Cleveland State Pep Band (in progress)
- ...and plenty of other projects to benefit the arts at Cleveland State and throughout the community!
Our members also serve individually through active membership in various nonprofit educational and arts organizations; volunteering as members of our church choirs, at nursing homes, and in other areas; and acting as student leaders through activity in various student organizations and programs such as:
